Cross Country season is officially over and Ian finished his first Cross Country season with a personal best time and a great finish at The Mt. Hood Conference District meet. He finished 19th out of 90 and passed four people on the last half mile. Erik captured it all with some amazing photos.

With Cross Country and soccer now over, that means Beauty and the Beast is just around the corner. If I can pull this whole thing off, it will be miraculous. This "pulling off" has nothing to so with the play itself. I have a great cast and strong singers and dancers...It all has to do with basically starting a theatre company from scratch in the midst of a play production. We've been raising money and attempting to get our new name out there, so hopefully we will get an audience this cast deserves and have enough lights to see them

Just for Elizabeth

Okay, I'm been absolutely pathetic with this blog page for the last six months. It started once Jessica became engaged and then married. I just didn't have/take the time. There is no way I'm going to catch up and so we will just start with where we are...now.

Now...I'm a month away from performance night of "Beauty and the Beast" and feel completely overwhelmed with not only producing a 35 member cast musical but with starting a new theatre company. Our name is Black Swan Youth Theatre. " Why that name?" you ask? Well, a Black Swan is a rarity and the term "black swan affect" is supposed to be when something exceeds expectations. My goal is always to get young actors to exceed expectations so I thought it was a great name.

Erik is nearly done with his soccer season and is overall content back at Corbett Middle School. Ian is wrapping up his cross country season and loves the whole cross country atmosphere. We basically have no free nights at home but it's been fun to cheer them on.

I promise to be better about blogging from now on Elizabeth. The photos I've posted are all taken by Erik (except he and Ian by the tree). After 15 years of living in Corbett, we found a new Gorge hike basically out our backyard. The photos are from that hike a few weeks back.

On the road to California...

Our Escape from rainy Oregon...

Halfway through our rainy and cold spring break, the Scott family said, "to heck with this" and headed down south seven hours to the warm and sunny Redding, California. It was in the 70's the whole day and we had tons of fun, mountain biking canoeing nadjust re-familiarizing ourselves with the sun again!

Here's our lakeside campsite on Lake Whiskeytown.

Ian at a photo shoot with Erik in the evening.

Talking to Elizabeth and relaxing in the sunshine.

Mmmm..yummy banger sausages frying over the fire, just likes Sam's in Lord of the Rings.

The one photo of Erik, since he's the the family photographer now. I basically had to pry the camera from his fingers to get this photo.

Jon biking through one of the many creeks on our ride.

Ian and I taking a break alongthe way.

Aaahh...that felt so good.
